Hailing from San Francisco, the trio consists of Sean Fitzsimmons (Vocals, Guitar, Bass,) Jason Witz (Bass, Guitar, Keys, Vocals), and Miki Rogulj (Percussion, Vocals). Influenced by various forms of art, they’ve channeled the underground psychedelic scene of the 1960s through their own modern, post punk filter. The band has shared the stage with the likes of Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Roky Erickson, Dead Meadow, The Warlocks, Night Beats, Toy, Allah-Las, and have been known to back local legend Cyril Jordan of The Flamin' Groovies on occasion. They’ve performed various festivals such as Levitation (Austin, TX), Shiiine On Weekender (UK), Liverpool Festival of Psychedelia (UK), and Desert Stars Festival (Joshua Tree, CA) to name a few.

"Depeche Mode and Joy Division robbed the biggest bank in London and in the safe they found Cellar Doors. I love music you can rob a bank to and this does that for me." -

“Swimming in a hazy pool of languid distortion, shimmering reverb and lengthy vocal trails, Cellar Doors are a brilliantly modern take on classic psychedelia. Reminiscent of classics of the 70’s but imbued with the spirit of 90’s shoegaze and 00’s indie, they have managed to perfectly capture the sound of a hazy summer. Beautifully evocative and perfectly written”

“When you can’t go out at night because it’s been raining for a week straight and the gutters are giving back the rats, buoyant like waterlogged kiwis; when you sit to close to a window because gangs of of disgruntled youths – flashing guitars “just like switch-blades” – rule the dull, wet night; when the bass cuts through the smoggy, neon swell at the beginning of “Frost”, the lead single off Cellar Doors’ first 7” for Spiritual Pajamas, it sounds like a war machine on the edge of losing control. The force of the sound blows to band to bits in the video for “Frost”, directed by Nathan Seabrook, and the distorted signal comes through stripped of color, emotion, and clarity. “
